Where to recycle your Christmas trees in Windsor and Maidenhead

Various locations around the borough will allow you to recycle your old Christmas trees next month.

If you have a green garden waste bin, it will be recycled by the council on the usual collection day.

Garden waste collections will be suspended between Friday, December 27 and Sunday, January 12 and resumes as normal on Monday, January 13.

Those with a real Christmas tree can recycle it at tree collection points around the borough listed below between Monday, January 6 and Friday, January 24.

The trees are shredded, composted and turned into soil conditioner.

Only real Christmas trees can be recycled, and pots, lights and decorations should be removed first before disposing of the tree.

Trees can be recycled at the following Maidenhead collection point locations:

  • Ascot: Recreation ground, Victoria Road.
  • Bray: Car park, High Street.
  • Cookham: Cookham Moor car park.
  • Datchet: Village Hall car park, Allen Way.
  • Eton: Eton Court car park.
  • Eton Wick: Haywards Mead recreation ground car park.
  • Holyport Village Hall, Maidenhead.
  • Knowl Hill Village Hall car park.
  • Stubbings Nursery, Maidenhead.
  • Sunningdale: Broomhall recreation ground.
  • Sunninghill: Victory Fields recreation ground.
  • Old Windsor: Church Road Allotments and Robin Willis Way recreation ground.
  • Wraysbury: Village Hall.

The last day for disposing of your real Christmas Tree is Friday, January 24 2025.
