Comedian Alex Horne to attend Sunday's Maidenhead Town Show

05:02PM, Monday 13 October 2025

A celebration of creativity and community is set to take over Maidenhead town centre this Sunday.

The popular Maidenhead Town Show, organised by the Craft Coop CIC, will transform the High Street and the Nicholsons Centre from 10am to 5pm, with a range of attractions, stalls and entertainment.

The much-loved event will raise funds for Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP) and will be attended by Maidenhead MP Josh Reynolds and Town Crier Chris Brown

Comedian Alex Horne, TVAP’s new patron, will also be in attendance at the show.

The free, family-friendly event will be compered by Jonny Walker and will offer up food, craft and community stalls and street vendors.

The Maidenhead Festival team will host a new Collaboration Stage, with a full line-up, featuring acts such as Chance to Dance Stars, Windsor Ukulele Band, Blend Choir, Blackmore, Tara Deane, Sophie Henderson, Berkshire Music Trust Brass Band and Teresa and Bruno.

Visitors will enjoy a variety of stalls, alongside book readings, a flower-arranging display, and competitions in the Nicholsons Centre.

The competitions, sponsored by Hobbycraft, will cover categories such as arts and crafts, photography, and baking, and green fingers.

There are also several children’s categories available to enter – including ‘Best in Maidenhead’, asking youngsters to draw a poster to advertise Maidenhead.

The children’s categories are free to enter and the top prize is a Legoland day pass for a family of four.

The team will also be providing a kids crafts table in the former CardZone unit for youngsters to draw and submit their Christmas card entries for this year’s Christmas Card Competition, being run by the Advertiser in collaboration with Josh Reynolds MP.

The winning design will feature on Mr Reynolds’ official Christmas card.

Guests can visit farm animals at Basil & Crew’s Mobile Farm and take part in sensory play sessions on Stand Out For Autism’s sensory bus.

An array of food vendors will offer tasty treats to guests and Renegade Brewery and Henley Distillery will be among those serving up drinks.

There will be a funfair ride for younger visitors to enjoy.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service team will also visit at 2pm.

Guests can enter their furry friends into the ever-popular Fun Dog Show, taking place at 3pm, managed by Bruce’s Doggy Daycare.

A free monster trail for children will culminate at Cocoba chocolate café in the Waterside Quarter with a sweet treat.

Art Social Maidenhead will be running a live community mural about Maidenhead, which people can collaborate and add to themselves.

The fun will conclude with competition awards and a raffle ceremony at 4pm, featuring prizes donated by local businesses.

Heidi Berry, one of the organisers from Craft Coop CIC, said: “The Maidenhead Town Show brings together everything that makes our town special — creativity, community spirit and local pride.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for residents, makers and community groups to come together for a great cause, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone on the day.”

The event is being sponsored by The Prince Philip Trust Fund, The Louis Baylis Charitable Trust, Shanly Foundation, Maidenhead Festival, the Nicholsons Centre, Craft Coop, Oakwood Estates, Front Row Video, and Hobbycraft.
