A 27-year-old man has been fined more than £2,000 for hunting wild animals with dogs and posting videos of it on social media.
Harry Laflin of Thorn Drive, George Green, Slough, pleaded guilty to three counts of hunting wild animals with dogs at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 15.
Laflin posted videos on TikTok of himself hunting deer and foxes with two dogs in the South Buckinghamshire area and taking them back to his home in November last year.
He was charged on March 24.
Laflin no longer has access to the dogs involved, and he was fined £2,044 plus costs.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police South Buckinghamshire said this shows the force is making Thames Valley a 'hostile area for rural crime', especially when uploaded to social media.
"Let this be a lesson for others doing similar acts across the whole of Thames Valley; hiding behind a screen does not stop us finding out who you are, and we are dedicated to bringing justice to offenders," the spokesperson added.
"Thank you to the member of the public who reported this offending to us; we strongly encourage others to report any other rural crimes they see posted online."
