Former Holyport striker Kickie Dzimba has said it’s time to ‘get to work’ after signing for Marlow ahead of their 2025/26 Southern League Central Division campaign.

The Blues will be looking to boost their forward options after struggling to make much of an impact offensively in the step 3 Southern League Premier South division last season.

Mark Bartley’s side finished bottom of the table and rarely looked like getting themselves out of the relegation zone after a challenging start to the campaign that coincided with many of their best players moving on for pastures new.

The Blues signed Mitch Parker from Binfield midway through the campaign and their form improved with him leading the line, and they’ll hope Dzimba can add something different and extra to their attacking output in the Southern League Central Division this season.

Dzimba has played for several clubs since his successful three season spell with Holyport ended after the 2023/24 campaign. He helped fire them from 14th in the Combined Counties Premier Division North to fifth and a place in the play-offs before deciding he should test himself at a higher level.

The 21-year-old moved to Uxbridge at step 4 and scored one goal in nine appearances before moving on to Binfield in the Isthmian League South Central Division. His stay there was also relatively short, and he finished last season under the tutelage of Jamie Tompkins at Ascot United, helping the Yellamen finish in the play-offs.

First team coach Aaron Steadman said: “Really looking forward to working with Kickie.

“Another talented, hardworking and honest young forward who is already a proven goal scorer at step 4.”

Marlow have been active in the market this summer as they look to rebuild their squad to hopefully challenge for promotion from the Southern League Central Division. Earlier this week they announced several new signings, including goalkeeper Ryan North, who joins from Slough’s development squad having also played for Leverstock Green last season.

The Blues have also signed 21-year-old defender Pelumi Maxwell - who was at North Leigh last season - and midfielder Ezekiel Williams, who played for FC Romania last season.

The latest name to add to the squad list is 25-year-old winger Cheyce Grant who played for Beaconsfield Town in the Southern League Central Division last season.

Steadman posted: “It’s great to work with Cheyce again. Always been a very successful wide man at the level. Great signing.”

The Blues have also managed to retain several key players from last season’s squad, including top scorer Naheer Nawaf, club captain Chris Ovenden, midfielder Josh Masters and striker Mitch Parker.

They kicked off pre-season with a routine 6-0 win over Woodley United on Saturday and will take on AFC Aldermaston at The Atrium this evening (Tuesday, 6.45pm kick-off).
