Organisers say this year’s Burnham and Slough Pride is going to be ‘bigger and better than ever before’.

Returning for its third year, the event, organised by the Burnham Pride committee, has ‘grown significantly over the last year’ and is now set to be held at Burnham Park Hall.

In previous years, the celebration was held at the Burnham Royal British Legion premises in Gore Road.

Guests will enjoy an action-packed event of live performances, stalls, face painting and plenty of food and drink from 2pm to 11.30pm on Saturday, September 13.

More than 100 performers will be taking centre stage throughout the day, ranging from singers to live bands, drag artists and dancers.

EJ The Elton John tribute will be covering his classic hits and The It Twinz will also be performing for guests.

Brambley Apple and Connie Contour be keeping the party going, alongside an array dance troupes and bands.

Guests will enjoy performances from the Soulful Sistas Slough, Creative Academy, Prodigy Dance Studios, Divergent Dance, Swipe, Spiral Dance, Steel Band and Kuran.

There will be plenty of stalls to browse, covering everything from tattoos and glitter paint to local organisations and groups.

These include Nails to Tails, Crafty Gems, Pagan Soul Tattoos, Face & Glitter Paint, Beaumont Society – Newbury Pride, Bucks Scouts, Berkshire Unicorns Rugby, TVPS, BeYou LGBTQIA+ and Q Hubs Safe Space.

Burnham Parish Council has provided grant funding to support the event.

Ellis Brickley, chairwoman of Burnham & Slough Pride, said: “I hope that year’s event brings the LGBTQ+ community of Burnham & Slough together, and that everyone who attends and takes part has a fabulous, fun and safe day.

“It’s going to be bigger and better than ever before.

“We have over 100 performers throughout the afternoon and into the evening from dancers, singers, drag acts, cabaret, live bands we have it all, along with 20 stalls ranging from charities, face painters, and local businesses.

“No tickets are required to attend, and the event is open to all.”
