Friends from a spinning class have been preparing to ride the length of Great Britain for Save the Children's 'East Sleep Learn and Play' programme.
Steen Poirrier, 54, from Wargrave, Stephen Glover, 54, from Knowl Hill, and John Burness, 55, from Henley, will cycle 969 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, from today until Sunday, September 16.
They have so far raised £2,400 for the charity, which supports families in poverty by providing them with beds, household essentials, educational books and toys.
“It has been tough squeezing the training in between work commitments," said Steen.
"Most weekends are in the saddle but I’m sure it will be worth it for the impressive views at the top of all those hills!"
They will be joined on the ride by Olympic bronze medal winning rower Alex Partridge and Paralympic skiers Tim Farr and Sean Rose.
