The shortlist of nominees for this year’s Twyford Together Community Awards has been announced.

The annual ceremony celebrates good deeds, fundraising efforts plus businesses and volunteers who work towards making Twyford a better place to live.

Nominations were made by members of the public and the shortlist determined by members of Twyford Together, a non-profit organisation of business people and community members who put on events and fundraisers for the community in aid of Twyford charities.

They have been running for several years and this year, two new awards, honouring the villages teachers and restaurants and cafes, have been created.

Back in January Twyford Together volunteer Emma Donald told the Advertiser that the organisation is about bringing people together and helping people to connect for a good cause.

“The awards do just this: celebrating individuals, businesses and groups who bring sunshine to people's lives and make a difference.”

Winners will be announced on Monday March 18 at The Royal Oak Ruscombe pub.
