Calcot man jailed for conspiracy to supply cocaine

A 54-year-old man has been jailed for eight years for conspiring to supply cocaine.

Lincoln Crooks, of Cambrian Way, Calcot, was arrested after a parcel containing 1kg of cocaine was intercepted by the UK Border Agency (UKBA).

Thames Valley Police, in conjunction with the UKBA, arrested Crooks, and Gillian Hope, 36, from Shilling Close, Tilehurst, for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Crooks denied the offence but was found guilty on Tuesday and sentenced at Reading Crown Court today.

Hopes was found not guilty.

The cocaine was examined and found to have a street value of anywhere between £113,000 and £800,000 depending on how it was cut.

House searches of both their premises also provided a large amount of evidence, including further drugs, cash, foreign currency and jewellery.
