Two men have been sentenced for burglary, with one also being jailed for driving offences in Ascot.

Anthony Ford, 29, of Brain Court, Swindon and Kalum Rodrigues, 21, of Fourth Avenue, Dursley, broke into two properties in Ascot, stealing multiple personal items from the victims’ home.

The pair pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary of a dwelling for the incident on February 13 this year, but were found not guilty of criminal damage.

Ford also pleaded guilty to one count of driving whilst uninsured, driving otherwise in accordance with a license and failing to provide.

He was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment and was disqualified from driving for four years.

Rodrigues was given a 16-month suspended sentence, 150 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation days and ordered to pay £250 in compensation to the victim.

They were arrested on the same day of the offences and charged a day later.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Lily Ellis, said: “This sentence is the result of an investigation by the Priority Crime Team for East Berkshire.

“We would like to thank the victims of these crimes for their diligence in supporting this investigation, which allowed us to quickly arrest and charge two offenders with multiple offences.

“On the offence date in February of this year, both defendants were selfish in their actions and showed no regard to the impact on the victims.

“We are pleased both have been held accountable and now have time to reflect on their behaviour.”
