Murder probe over death of Langley motorcyclist, 31, near Datchet
Riding Court Road remains closed following the death of a motorcyclist from Langley
A murder investigation has been launched over the death of a motorcyclist near Datchet on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to Riding Court Road at about 4.30pm following reports of a crash between the driver of a blue Mini and a motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man from Langley, was given emergency medical treatment but died at the scene.
Thames Valley Police said a 39-year-old man, from Birmingham, has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and murder.
He remains in police custody at this time.
A significant police presence was in place in Datchet overnight.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Alice Broad of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “First and foremost, we offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the man who died following the collision yesterday.
“Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the man’s family are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“We understand that incidents like this cause concern in the community, but our investigation is moving at a fast pace and we have made an arrest.”
The Detective Inspector said police believe there was an earlier incident involving the drivers of both vehicles and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
DCI Broad added: “We want to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash-cam footage from the Datchet area yesterday afternoon to please contact the force as soon as possible. No matter how insignificant you think the information is, please report it to us so we can establish what has happened.
“We believe there was an earlier incident involving the drivers of both vehicles at the junction with Slough Road and London Road, so would also appeal to anyone who may have witness information or dash-cam footage to please contact the force.
