Former ITN reporter speaks to history society
Chairman Peter Halman
Former ITN reporter Norman Rees gave Wargrave Local History Society an insight into his experiences working in some of the world's trouble spots at their meeting on October 8.

The society's meeting at The Pavilion at Wargrave Recreation Ground heard Mr Rees speak of his work.

He covered events such as the Watergate hearings, the shooting of John Lennon and the attempted assassination of President Regan.

He also worked with Princess Diana and spoke of the miners strikes, the Falklands War and the horror of the Dunblane shootings.

Chairman Peter Halman gave a farewell and thanks to Geoff and Pam Briggs who are leaving the area.

Geoff helped the society through his photographic and presentation skills.

The next meeting is on Tuesday, November 12.
