If you're looking for a frolickingly good fun pantomime this Christmas look no further than Cinderella at the Braywick Leisure Centre.

If you're an adult you may want to take some ear defenders with you, however, as the audience gets LOUD!

This classic tale at the Braywick Leisure Centre will see Cinderella go to the ball - and go to the ball in style - accompanied by much merriment and mayhem - and some brilliantly catchy tunes.

Cinderella's father has gone off to Cox Green (of all places) and left poor old Cinders in the lurch with her ugly step-sisters - played with a wicked sense of humour for kids and adults alike.

She hopes one day to meet her dashing prince and escape the clutches of her home - where she's made to work around the clock for her evil - but riotously funny - new sisters.

There's plenty of music, some familiar tunes such as Wicked's ‘Defying Gravity’ - and others that are unique to the show, such as the brilliant '12 Days of Christmas Routine' - which sees water squirted into the audience and massive beach balls sent flying around the Bayliss Theatre.

'If I wasn't in a pantomime' is another fantastic song, which involves some impressive vocal work and body-swerving movements from the actors on stage.

At one point, the stepsisters chase Buttons into the audience and up and down the aisles - prompting huge belly laughs from the kids and much excitement.

Like all pantos - the stage is awash with colourful costumes, and a clever animated backdrop which enables a pumpkin to be transformed into a carriage to whisk Cinders off to the ball.

There's also a scene with a ghost - I don't remember that from the original tale - but who cares, it gives the kids another chance to damage their vocal cords as they scream - 'it's behind you!'

The Fairy Godmother is also a jolly good laugh and her transformation of Cinderella's rags into a beautiful ball gown was my daughter’s favourite part.

Also look out for Buttons pulling out a copy of the Maidenhead Advertiser!

Will Cinders escape the clutches of her ugly stepsisters and live her happily ever after?

The clock is ticking, so be sure to book your tickets before the show’s run finishes on Boxing Day (December 26)

Tickets from £17* and family tickets available at off peak performances.
