Camberley 40, Maidenhead 24
Maidenhead fell to a not entirely unsurprising defeat at fourth-placed Camberley on Saturday, bringing an end to their two-match winning run in the Regional 1 South Central Division.
Maids had moved themselves up to sixth in the table off the back of home wins over Bracknell and Old Alleynians at Braywick Park. and they were very much in this clash against Camberley going into the second half trailing 28-17.
First half tries from the hosts' Maciu Nabogi in the fifth minute, George Owen in the 21st minute, Matt Bowers in the 24th minute and George Owen again in the 37th minute gave the home side their 11-point advantage, which they extended after the break with further scores from John Murphy, and Matt Bowers. The extras were also clinically slotted by both Alexander Seers and Matt Bowers as Camberley ran out winners by 40-24.
Again, Maids had given plenty to this game and they managed to scramble another bonus point to keep their noses two points above Old Alleynians in sixth place.
Sixth is likely the highest place Maids can achieve this season, with fifth placed CS Stags 17 points ahead of them, however, David Mobbs-Smith's men will fancy their chances of picking up a healthy number of points from their next three matches at Tunbridge Wells on Saturday (February 1), Hammersmith & Fulham at Braywick Park on February 15 and away to bottom club Brighton March 1.
Maids are also set to play in the Regional 1 Plate competition when the season finishes.

Windsor 59, Wallingford 11
Windsor racked up another big win in Counties 1 Tribute Southern North, this time over Wallingford at home to keep the pressure firmly on league leaders Oxford Harlequins.
Andy Symons' side ran in nine tries in their 59-11 win over Wallingford at Home Park and they remain just five points behind Quins at the top of the table - having inflicted the first defeat on the league leaders the previous week.
This home win was about as comfortable as they come, with Harry Bicknell touching down to get them off the mark inside five minutes. Tomasi Vasu added a second try in the 17th minute, and Vasu ran in a third Windsor score in the 38th minute to stretch their lead at the break.
With Ben Grant-Adamson slotting the extras, Windsor had a firm grip on the contest, and they then took advantage of a wilting Wallingford in the second period.
Ben Grant-Adamson charged over for a score of his own, Allen Crawshaw got his name on the scoresheet in the 45th minute, Joseph Triegaardt scored a third try in 10 minutes in the 49th minute before getting his second of the game in the 56th minute.
Epeli Takesenilagi and Crawshaw again went over the whitewash to complete the victory and maintain Windsor's hopes for promotion this season.
They're still very much in the mix to potentially pip Oxford Harlequins, however, even if they don't manage that, they could yet finish as one of the best runners-up at this level and claim promotion through this route.
Windsor will put their nine-game winning streak on the line at seventh placed High Wycombe this Saturday.

Old Haberdashers 19, Marlow 24
Windsor aren't the only local side in sparkling form right now, with Marlow putting together a string of positive results in the Regional 2 Thames Division.
The side have found form under new coach Kev O'Byrne in recent weeks and, although it will come too late to spark a possible promotion push, it should lift spirits across the club and raise confidence the club can be more competitive at this level next season.
Saturday's 24-19 win at Old Haberdashers was the side's fifth win in six league matches and it's lifted them to eighth in the table.
They have matches in hand on all the teams above them and host second placed Belsize Park this Saturday.
