The draw for the quarter finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup were made on Friday, with Flackwell Heath set for a trip to either Binfield or Aylesbury Vale Dynamos in the final eight.
Chris Ayres’ side have a fantastic opportunity to make it through to the semi-finals after managing to avoid pro teams Wycombe Wanderers, Reading and MK Dons who’ve entered at this stage.
The Heathens claimed a relatively straightforward 2-0 home win over Aylesbury United last week to put their name in the hat for the quarterfinals.
They were joined in the final eight by Beaconsfield Town and Bracknell Town who earned home wins over Thatcham Town and Amersham Town respectively.
There are still a couple of outstanding fourth round ties to be played after Binfield’s home tie against Aylesbury Vale Dynamos last week was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. That tie is scheduled for January 7, while Ascot United will host Hungerford Town – conquerors of Slough Town in the third round – on January 14.
The full draw is as follows: Ascot United or Hungerford Town vs Milton Keynes Dons; Bracknell Town vs Reading; Beaconsfield Town vs Wycombe Wanderers and Binfield or Aylesbury Vale Dynamos vs Flackwell Heath.
Ties are set to be played in the week commencing January 13, however, the Ascot United/Hungerford Town vs MK Dons game will be scheduled for a later date.
The FA has also confirmed that this year’s final will take place at Didcot Town FC on Tuesday, April 8.
The draw for the quarterfinals of the Berks & Bucks FA Charles Twelvetree Trophy was also made yesterday (Monday) with Maidenhead Town and Old Windsor still in the mix for the trophy. Great Missenden will host Great Horwood, Maidenhead Town are home to Finchampstead, Kennington Athletic take on Stoke Mandeville and Westwood Wanderers will host Old Windsor, with ties to be played on Saturday, January 11. The final of the competition is scheduled to be played at Slough Town’s Arbour Park ground on Thursday, March 13.
