Windsor RFC head coach Paul Britton says his  players are ‘fully focused’ for the visit of local rivals Slough on Saturday.

His side’s recent matches have been frozen off because of the cold weather and the players have had to train indoors,  simulating rugby moves.

Britton said the players are now desperate to get some competitive rugby action following this week’s thaw in temperatures.

“We’re probably in a better shape than most teams,” said Britton.

“We have been training indoors and simulating rugby moves but we finally managed to get outside and play some rugby last night (Tuesday) which the guys enjoyed.

“Slough are a tough side and they will be keen to upset our form.”

Preparing for the game this week Britton warned that past results between the two sides was irrelevant.

Windsor travelled to Slough earlier in the season and ran out comfortable 34-0 victors.

“We played very well against them earlier in the season,” said Britton.

“But will have to make sure we start the game well and get some momentum in the game.”
