Wycombe snap up Arsenal's Eastmond

Chairboys boss Gary Waddock.

Wycombe Wanderers FC have signed two players today (Tuesday) as they look to give their relegation haunted squad a boost.

Chairboys boss Gary Waddock has signed midfielder Craig Eastmond on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season and also snapped up Millwall midfielder Chris Hackett for a month.

Eastmond arrives at Adams Park having played 10 times for Arsenal's first team, including four appearances in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.

The 21-year-old started out as a right back before being converted into a midfielder by Arsene Wenger.

He said: "It's a very good move for me. I just want to play as many games as possible and help Wycombe move up the table.

"I'm always ready for a new challenge, that's what football is all about."

Waddock said: "He's got all the right qualities. He's joining us from one of the best clubs in England and I'm delighted that we've been able to add him to the group.

"He's hungry to develop as a player and hopefully we'll give him the perfect platform to do that."

Hackett is a right sided midfielder and the 28-year-old will bring important experience to the Chairboys according to Waddock.

He said: "He's got experience of playing at Championship level and knows League 1 after his loan spell at Exeter earlier this season.

"We're looking for a spark and hopefully these two additions will provide that."
