Windsor FC's title dream is still alive insists Scott
Windsor FC boss Keith Scott insists last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Hanworth Villa does not mean the end of his side’s title hopes in the Combined Counties Premier Division.
The draw saw Windsor fall 11 points behind leaders Guildford City with two games in hand and Scott admits the Surrey team are now firmly in the driving seat.
But he insists the race for the title is still far from over and says his side will fight to the very last to try and secure the championship.
He said: “We’ve got two games in hand so if we win them we go five points behind them and we still have them to play at home.
“So nothing has really changed, we’re still in a good position and still have a chance.
“Would I rather be in Guildford’s position? Yes I would but that doesn’t mean that it’s over already.
“I remember when I was Windsor & Eton manager and we were 15 points ahead of AFC Totton. They had five games in hand on us and they won them all.”
Scott added: “There’s a long way to go and I’m sure there are twists and turns to come.
“We just have to worry about what we’re doing, if we do that then what happens elsewhere will take care of itself.
“We just have to keep going and hope somebody will take points off Guildford.”
Windsor will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league when they host Molesey on Saturday before visiting Dorking on Tuesday night.
