Kevin Stone has resigned as Marlow manager.

Kevin Stone has resigned as manager of struggling Marlow FC.

Stone offered his resignation immediately after the 4-2 home defeat at the hands of North Greenford United on Saturday and, having considered the offer for 24 hours, it was accepted by the club's board.

Assistant manager Steve Croxford has agreed to take over at Oak Tree Road in the interim period while the club begins the process of looking for a new manager.

A Marlow FC statement said: "Kevin's association with the club goes back to his first contact when he was eight-years-old and he has served the club over a long period as player and manager.

"Marlow FC is most grateful to him for this long service and commitment and would like to wish him well for the future in the knowledge that he will always be most welcome at Oak Tree Road."

Marlow currently sit eight points adrift at the bottom of the Southern Central Division having won just four games all season.

They are in action tomorrow night at North Greenford United, who they lost to on Saturday.
