WSEH star Levine stars in Glasgow
Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club (WSEH) athletes enjoyed notable success at the UKA Indoor Championships and European Championships Trials in Glasgow over the weekend.
Nigel Levine took top billing by successfully defending his 400m title with a time of 46.38secs. Coming back from injury, Nicola Sanders was another 400m runner to figure in the medal hunt.
She finished third in 53.11 and looks to have at least guaranteed a relay place in the European Championships in Turk-ey in early March.
WSEH had three other athletes contesting this event.
Shelayna Oskan finished fourth in her semi-final in 54.84 as did Helen Pryer in her semi-final in 55.02.
Lesley Owusu went out in the heats with her 55.69, but she also contested the 200m finishing fourth in her heat in 25.14.
Another WSEH 400m runner Dawn Hunt turned her attention to the 800m, winning her heat and then was just out of the medals in the final with a fourth-place finish in 2.05.
Sophie Papps, still only 17 years old, showed her future potential by being the youngest of the finalists in the 60m, finishing seventh in 7.55.
Lawrence Clarke, favourite for the 60m hurdles title, was disqualified after a false start but could still be selected for Turkey based on earlier performances.
The triple jump provided bronze awards for Michael Puplampu with a personal best (pb) of 15.61 and Yasmine Regis with her 13.50.
Rachel Wallader just missed a medal with her 15.21 for fourth in the shotput.
Decathlete Ashley Bryant contested two events with 6.86m for eighth in the long jump and 12.88m for 10th in the shotput.
