Investigations have found no evidence to support a theory that dogs who died at Heathlake Local Nature Reserve were poisoned. Rumours spread on social media networks last week after two dogs died within a week of each other. But a full investigation by Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) has found no evidence they were poisoned. In response to the deaths police urged dog owners to be vigilant in the area and warning posters were also put up.
The newly-elected independent councillor for Charvil has promised to put the village first in all his dealings. Nick Ray, who lives in Strathmore Drive, has pledged to get the most for villagers after he received 414 votes in Thursday's election to win what has historically been a Conservative seat.

The leader of the borough council has vowed money will be found for a new library in the village - despite £1.3m earmarked for the project being pulled from this year's budget. The Conservatives have lost two seats after voters went to the polls in Wokingham's borough council elections. The results were announced following the count at the Loddon Valley Leisure Centre in in Lower Earley today. Drivers in the Wokingham borough are being warned not to abuse a disabled parking scheme.
