A junior tennis player has been put through her paces after reaching the finals of a Lawn Tennis Association talent identification event in London. Sophie Drakeford-Lewis, 13, from Sonning, was one of 20 young players from across the country invited to train at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, after progressing through regional 'talent ID' days. Sophie, who trains at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, was able to showcase her ability.

A teenager with mental health problems died after taking an overdose of her father's heart medication, an inquest has heard. Rachel Rayner, 19, who was diagnosed with 'borderline personality disorder' passed away in the early hours of December 8, 2010, hours after taking an overdose at her home in Wargrave. The day before she died she was seen by her GP Mark Puddy and described hearing voices which compelled her to self harm.

Display boards conveying some of the village's rich history were unveiled this week. Sue Goddard, from the Twyford Village Partnership (TVP), managed to get planning permission for three new boards from landlords and the parish and borough councils. They were installed on Tuesday. The boards, at Weavers Way, Jubilee Corner, and Bell Corner, give visitors and residents alike an insight into the village and its history dating back centuries.

Actress Lynda Bellingham describes her experiences coping with her mother's dementia in a new video released by Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. With support from the Big Lottery fund, the the video has been released as part of Dementia Awareness Week next week. The primary care trust, NHS Berkshire, also marked the week by announcing that a dedicated dementia care advisor will help people living with the disease and their carers in the borough.
